80. (I) Social norms are unwritten rules that govern
behaviour within a society, guiding how individuals are
expected to act in various situations. (II) These norms
shape our interactions, from simple daily routines to
complex social rituals, and help maintain social order
by defining acceptable and unacceptable behaviours.
(III) They vary across cultures and contexts, meaning
that what is considered normal in one society might be
viewed differently in another. (IV) Some people who
follow these rules may still face criticism or rejection.
(V) Through adherence to these norms, individuals
contribute to the stability and predictability of social life.
