80. (I) The American Civil War was a conflict between the
North and South over the issue of slavery. (II) This inspired
countless books, movies, and other forms of media over the
years. (III) It lasted from 1861 to 1865 and was one of the
most serious struggles in American history. (IV) The North,
under the leadership of President Abraham Lincoln, fought
to keep the Union together and put an end to slavery.
(V) The South, on the other hand, aimed to protect their
economic interests based on slave labour and maintain
their way of life.
