Momo is the story of a young, quiet girl who lives in the ruins of

belongings, but she has an amazing and special skill: she
knows how to listen deeply. When people talk to her, they
feel understood. Her ability to listen helps others find their
own answers, and she brings the community together.
This happy life is destroyed when
the ‘Men in Grey’ arrive. These
                            strange men are ‘time thieves’.
                             They convince everyone
                              to ‘save time’ by working
                               faster, rushing, and cutting

                             stressed, unhappy, and lonely.
Momo is the only one to resist
them. With the help of a wise man
named Professor Hora and his magic tortoise, Kassiopeia,
Momo begins a dangerous journey to stop the Men in
Grey and give the stolen time back to the people.
        THE CORE MESSAGE

The main message of Momo is that time is life, and it
should not be ‘saved’, but ‘lived’. The book is a critique of
a world that cares more about efficiency and money than
about happiness and human connection. It argues that the
most valuable things we can give to each other are our
        attention and time.
