2 Read the story below and put the paragraphs in the correct chronological order.

A _______ After a short search, I found Mrs. Blake’s little dog Robby lying half conscious on the floor. When the fire
brigade arrived, I was taking him out of the house. They put out the fire, and an ambulance took poor Robby

to a pet’s hospital.
B _______ It was very late, but I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep that night. I was looking out of the window and

thinking, “What a big day it is going to be!”

C _______ A few days later, Mrs. Blake and Robby came to visit me. “I am grateful to you for saving my best friend,”
she said in tears. I felt really proud of myself then.

D _______ It was then I saw the smoke coming from my neighbour’s house. I immediately called the fire brigade
and ran to the house. I knocked on the door many times, but there was no answer. “She is not at home,” I
thought in relief. At that moment, I heard a kind of weak cry. I couldn’t wait there without doing anything, so

I broke a window and got into the house.
