A FRIEND IS MORE THAN JUST A FRIEND
In life, there are many things that are out of our control. For example, we can’t choose our parents, our
genetics, or control the things that happen in the world. However, there is one thing that we can choose: It is
who our friends are. This decision can either make our lives much richer and more beautiful, or more stressful and
disappointing. Therefore, finding a true friend is crucial in our lives especially for two reasons. First, it makes
life more enjoyable. We can share every beautiful aspect of life with people who we love, which improves the
quality of our lives. Second, our friends are always there to help us during difficult times. If we have friends to
support us when we have to overcome a hardship, difficult situations may be more tolerable.
The fact that true friendships enrich and color our lives is known to everyone. However, most people are
having difficulty in building one. There comes the question: Where and how can I find true friends? In order to
start a friendship, you need to take a step and start socializing because a true friend doesn’t magically appear
on your doorstep. Moreover, it’s easier to build a friendship if people you contact have the same interests as you,
so it’s advisable to join events related to your interests, such as painting, trekking, dancing, etc. In these events,
you most probably find a friend with whom you can get on better than the rest of the group, and if he or she is
the one, your friendship turns into a lifelong friendship.
To sum up, as we are social creatures, friendship has always been an indispensable part of our lives for
thousands of years. Therefore, building a friendship is always a priority for most of us. However, it may require
some effort and sacrifices to build and maintain a friendship. Also, it shouldn’t be taken for granted as no one
would want to lose a friend whom he or she can trust and share the life with.
