BARBAROS SCARECROW FESTIVAL
Barbaros is a village in Urla, İzmir. In summer, the local people in
Barbaros organize a festival called Scarecrow Festival which is the
most creative and interesting festival in Turkey’s coastal regions.
The purpose of the festival is to support handmade production in a
creative way and show the Barbaros culture and traditions to other
people.

There are three main events in the festival. The first one is

you can see hundreds of super creative, handmade scarecrows
everywhere. All of them are different from each other and they are
very colourful. Many scarecrows carry a social message in their hands
