A Kadayawan is a weeklong festival which is
celebrated every third week of August in the city
of Davao, Philippines. I think it is one of the must-
see celebrations in the world. It is the celebration
of life and culture. And it is a thanksgiving to
nature for good harvest. The name of the festival
comes from the word ‘Madayaw’. It means “good,
superior” in local dialect.
