Sprouts are Good
Edward, a thirteen-year-old boy, was very happy that day as his dream
that vegetable lovers were sprouting up all over his town came true.
Hordes of visitors rolled up to take part in the “Sprout Festival” occurred
for the first time in his father’s farm who was the chief of Sprout Growers
Association. A contest was held in the festival and amateur chefs
cooked different kinds of sprout dishes. Surprisingly, visitors found
themselves queuing up to enjoy the inspired sprout dishes served up.
One of the chefs said that “the event aims to spread the message that
sprouts are tasty and healthy” and added that “sprouts contain at least

two compounds with proven cancer-protective qualities”. Another chef
explained that “At first, lots of people say they don’t like sprouts, but
when they taste and learn what can be done with them it really opens their eyes.” A young lady

visitor supported him saying that “My mom often serves up cold mushy sprouts with some beef
for special dinners, but you can eat them in all lunches and dinners and conjure up delicious

recipes.” At the end of the day, Edward’s father gave a speech for a nutritionist magazine saying
5
that “Sprouts contain four times as much vitamin as oranges. Maybe one day, we will see some
minor competitions running for the best sprout dish.” And, his mother said that “I believe the reality

of protective qualities against cancer will make sprouts known better, and I foresee that sprout dish
