1 A Read the passage and answer the questions below.

ALL ABOARD !!!

When The Eastern Express (Dogu Expresi) arrived at the platform at 16:30, people were running up and down to find

their wagons. Porters were busy helping the passengers. The nice hawkers were crying at the top of their voices.
There was a great rush against the silence of winter cold in Ankara station. It’s already 16:50, ten minutes earlier
than the departure. The stationmaster blew a whistle, and then the train did. After the train set off, it was soon

rolling through a rough landscape with a wonderful sunset. There were houses, farms, trees, and fields flying by

outside the window. It is charming to see some kids’ waving or animals’ running away from the dangerous sound of
the train. A state of 24 hours rail joy has started with the musicians’ fascinating tunes.

The airy fragrance of the sheets had spread over the compartment when someone pulled down the bunks. The

thrilling railing was like rocking in the cradle, with no sound or light from the train or outside. It was good for
uninterrupted sleep till 05:00, the right time for capturing the unique scenes of the amazing east of Turkey. Because

of the snow-covered nature, it is priceless to make such a trip at this time of the year. It looks as calm as a millpond.
The train turns around the lakes, the white mountains and the snow-covered chimneys of the houses. It is bouncing

between black and white again and again in endless tunnels through one after another.

A feeling of great peace and enthusiasm cover hundreds

of people on the train. However, they do not know each
other well. They are fateful companions on this 24-hour

train travel in the rhythmic railing. As it passes through
the hard winter outside in the untouched landscape, we

watch the scenes from our warm seats. This simple and
worn compartment, suddenly becomes a home for all.
