Read the short paragraphs about folk heroes / heroines of different cultures. Then do some research and write a paragraph
about a folk hero / heroine in your own culture.
Mulan
Mulan is a legendary heroine from Chinese folklore, celebrated for her bravery and selflessness. Disguising herself
as a man, Mulan joins the army in place of her sick father. With her exceptional martial arts skills and strategic
thinking, she becomes a respected warrior, protecting her family and homeland. Mulan’s story embodies courage,
sacrifice, and the triumph of the human spirit.
Robin Hood
Robin Hood is a legendary outlaw hero from English folklore. Known for his exceptional archery skills and his
commitment to fighting against injustice, Robin Hood steals from the rich to help the poor. He is a symbol of hope
and represents the ideals of equality, compassion, and standing up for the weak.
King Arthur
The legendary British hero of the Arthurian tale, King Arthur, is a symbol of chivalry, justice, and fighting for a noble
cause. With the help of the wizard Merlin and his trusted sword Excalibur, King Arthur sends the Knights of the Round
Table on missions to protect the land and uphold the values of honour and righteousness.
