1 Read the events below. What do you think were the reasons for these events? Write two
different explanations for each.

A Two teenagers were having dinner in a restaurant. One of them

suddenly got up and rushed out of the restaurant.

2 Read the criticisms in the box, choose two sentences and invent stories about them.

He shouldn’t have parked there. They shouldn’t have gone to the beach at midday.

She shouldn’t have told anybody. You should have worn a suit.

He should have taken his credit card with him. You should have taken some water with you.

E.g. We visited our uncle last night. He moved to their new house last week. My father didn’t notice that he had

left the car in a ‘No Parking’ area, and the police towed away his car. He shouldn’t have parked there.
