Dear Ms Thompson,
I am writing to request permission to celebrate the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with other Turkish students
and introduce Turkish culture to foreign students in your esteemed institution. As an exchange student from Türkiye, I would like to
share our cultural heritage and traditions with my peers in your school.
The arrival of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, in Samsun on May 19, 1919, is celebrated in Türkiye
on Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. In Türkiye, it is marked as Youth and Sports Day, and young people take part
in sports competitions, parades, and cultural events to mark the day. As an exchange student, I think that celebrating this holiday
with other Turkish students at your school would be a great way to share our cultural traditions and beliefs with the rest of the school.
I would like to set up a cultural event at your school to show foreign students Turkish music, dance, food, and art. There will be a
culture exhibition, performances, and talks about the history and importance of Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
I promise that the event will be run in the strictest accordance with the rules and policies of your school.
Therefore, I would like to request your permission to hold this event on May 19, 2023, on your school’s premises. I understand that
there may be some procedures or requirements that I need to fulfil to obtain permission, and I am willing to comply with all such
requirements.
