PRESENT PERFECT TENSE & PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

PRESENT PERFECT TENSE OR PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
Geçmişte başlayıp içinde bulunduğumuz anda hâlâ devam eden ya da henüz tamamlanmış bir eylemi anlatan bazı fiiller hem
Present Perfect Tense hem de Present Perfect Continuous Tense ile anlam farkı olmaksızın kullanılabilir.
Bu şekilde yaygın olarak kullanılan fiiller şunlardır:
live work learn lie
rain snow study want
hope sleep stand look
sit stay wait teach

♦ I have been teaching / have taught English for twenty years.
♦ My sister has been working / has worked for the same clothing company since 2018.

Non- progressive olarak nitelediğimiz -ing eki almayan fiiller Present Perfect Tense ile kullanılır. Fakat hope, want,
wish fiilleri Present Perfect Continuous Tense ile de kullanılabilir.
♦ We have wanted to try cabbage kimchi ever since we heard about its popularity.
♦ Since the beginning of the week, the children have been hoping to go camping, but sadly, the weather is cold and
gloomy.
Eylemin konuşma anına kadar süren bölümünü ifade etmek için Present Perfect Continuous Tense, eylemin tamamlanmış
bölümünü ifade etmek için Present Perfect Tense kullanılır.
♦ Today, Tom is really busy. He has been writing emails all morning.
♦ Someone has eaten most of the cake before the party. I’ll have to buy some more.
Ever, never, always, occasionally, often, several times, once, twice gibi sıklık bildiren zaman zarfları Present
Perfect Continuous Tense ile kullanılmaz sadece Present Perfect Tense ile kullanılır.
♦ My maths teacher has always been an academic and charitable person.
♦ I have occasionally missed important emails because I forgot to check my inbox regularly.

So far, just, yet, already gibi eylemin tamamlandığını ifade eden yapılarla sadece Present Perfect Tense kullanılır.
♦ Sam has just finished his internship at the museum.
♦ I have read three chapters of the book so far.
