                      Worrying about Mark

               Dear Mary,
I am writing this e-mail to you to inform you about Mark, your brother. I called him many times, and
all those were missed calls. I really worry about him. Have you got in touch with him lately?
Well, you know Mark is making a journey across the USA by car from New York to San Francisco.
It takes approximately forty-three hours because San Francisco is 4.671 km away from New York.
                                                                                            (2)
               (1) He must have been in one of the towns on the road close to San Francisco by now. He can’t
have got there yet because it will take at least two weeks according to our last conversation about
his plan, and today is the sixth day he has been on the road. He might have stopped on the way
                                                                     (3)
for a few days. He may not have had time to charge his mobile phone on the road so his battery
                             (4)
                                                         (5)
was dead. I don’t want to think bad things, but he might have had an accident, too. That is why
               I am anxious.
These are just my predictions about him, and I kindly ask you to inform me if you have any news
               about him.
               Thank you in advance.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
               Susan

          4. Imagine that Mark sent a text message to Susan telling her that he is OK and he could hardly
answer the calls in order not to run flat. Write a text message to Mark as if you were Susan,
telling your predictions by criticising him.

Dear Mark, I worried about you. You should have
